A 3000km ride for Cancer
For the month of March, we are supporting one of our good friends, Christien Smeja for the Canadian Cancer Society. Christien is a seriously rad guy, we met him through mutual friends when he lived in Toronto. He's a self-proclaimed "ex-techie" who left the corporate grind two years ago to explore more of the outdoors.
Christien's currently riding Tour Aotearoa 2016 – a 3000km ride that follows the length of New Zealand. He's riding for his Aunt Marian, a cancer survivior who has battled multiple fights with different types of cancer.
Christien’s goal is is to raise $1 per kilometer ridden. All proceeds will be directed towards support support services for those living with cancer just like his Aunt Marian.
To help out, we’ll be donating a portion of proceeds to every set of Bike Balls sold on our website this month to his ride!
If you would like to contribute or learn more:
- You can donate directly to his Canadian Cancer Society page
- Check out his real-time map progress.
- See what Christien is seeing on his ride on his blog, “Born Again Christien” (best blog name, by the way)
Good luck Christien!
